Today, okaasan and I went to a clothing store, and I bought a yukata! It's really pretty, and it fits my style well. I'm so happy! After that, we ended up going to a big onsen (natural hot spring) to relax and rejuvenate ourselves. Onsens are suuuper hot, but they feel so nice! Plus, the minerals in them are healthy for you. I tried the sauna too, but that wasn't really my thing....I wish we had onsens in America!
After we got back home, we all had okonomiyaki for dinner. This dish is famous in Hiroshima, and Kyoto, I think. It's so yummy! After we had that, I made bacon for everyone as a small "thank-you" for taking care of me. I hope everyone liked it! We all took pictures together today, and I think we all look really cute.
I got to help Mimi-chan with her English homework too! It was fun to see what foreigners learn, but I was surprised at how hard it was! Some of their vocab included Alzheimer's disease, and pre-frontal cortex. Granted, the class seemed to be science-based, but still. Her homework was hard for me, and I'm a native English speaker! It was the accents that got me; I never really learned those in school. I told Mimi-chan that pronunciation is more important while speaking, not writing, and that there were many ways to pronounce words, and that she would be fine either way. I hope you do well on your test, Mimi-chan! <3
This was my last day with my host family. I'm really sad; I love it here and I don't want to leave them!!! I hope to come back to Japan again soon, so please wait for me until then!
I'm glad you are my family!
Love, Shelby
P.S. みみちゃん。。。"dynamo"。。。hehehehe
